TITANS USE DUI PREVENTION PROGRAM
Posted by Michael David Smith on June 24, 2008, 7:07 a.m. EDT

Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse has not spoken publicly since his arrest for driving under the influence , but Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean has a look at how other Titans are reacting to the news.

Most interestingly, Wyatt reports that one of Kearse's teammates noted he could have used Safe Ride Solutions , which allows players to call for a ride if they've had too much to drink.

There have been some programs we've discussed,'' punter Craig Hentrich said. It's just a shame that wasn't taken advantage of .''

Said Titans tight end Alge Crumpler, This is something that happened to an older veteran and something that has happened, unfortunately, throughout this league. But if we can kind of teach our guys and learn from this situation hopefully we can continue to have a brighter future.''

Kearse has a July 14 court date. His attorney, Roger May, represented former Titans quarterback Steve McNair in a 2003 drunk driving case that was eventually dismissed.
