Just before a cavalcade of golf carts fanned out at Hillwood Country Club in Nashville late this morning, participants in the Tennessee Titans Charity Golf Classic got a friendly reminder.
Anyone who needed a lift home after the tournament should just find a member of the team's staff. They will arrange a deal with Safe Ride Solutions. Just by asking, golfers who had indulged on the course can get two drivers - one to drive them home, another to drive their car home.
The irony of the moment was clear, as defensive end Jevon Kearse was charged with a DUI after he was pulled over at 4:42 a.m. Sunday.
Kearse and all his teammates have the details of available resources like Safe Ride Solutions spelled out to them regularly. It's hard to imagine why any players wouldn't take advantage.
While coach Jeff Fisher and General Manager Mike Reinfeldt spoke before the golf began, both said they would not address Kearse's arrest until Tuesday. They didn't want to steal attention from the event, which benefits the Tennessee Titans Foundation.
Kearse is expected on the field with the team for an OTA practice Tuesday morning.
